How UAE entry works
- Visa-free entry — GCC citizens do not need a visa.
- Visa on arrival — nationalities on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list receive entry permission at the airport. The length of stay depends on nationality.
- Pre-arranged tourist or visit visa — for other nationalities, issued through UAE airlines, licensed travel companies and hotels, or directly by ICP or GDRFA.
- Transit visa — 48 or 96 hours, single entry, for travellers who are not eligible for visa on arrival.
- Other permits — for example the GCC resident eVisa and the 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date you enter the UAE. Eligibility also depends on passport type, residence, purpose and documents, so our checker never relies on nationality alone.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa to visit Dubai or the UAE?
It depends on your passport, your country of residence and why you are travelling. GCC citizens enter without a visa. Many nationalities receive entry permission on arrival, and others must arrange a visa before travelling. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes the current list by nationality; our online checker compares your answers with it.
What is the difference between visa validity and permitted stay?
Validity is the period in which you can use the visa to enter the UAE. The permitted stay is how long you can remain after entering. For example, the 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa is valid for five years and allows stays of up to 90 days per visit, extendable once by 90 days.
Which documents does a UAE tourist visa need?
Usually a clear passport identity page and a recent passport-size photograph, plus travel details such as a return or onward ticket and accommodation. The 5-year tourist visa also needs a bank balance of USD 4,000 or equivalent over the last six months and UAE-valid health insurance. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from entry.
Can Indian passport holders get a visa on arrival in the UAE?
According to the UAE Government portal, Indian citizens with an ordinary passport who hold a US visit visa, a US green card, or a UK or EU residence visa (valid for at least six months) can get a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days. Others need a visa before travel.
What is a UAE transit visa?
Travellers who are not eligible for visa on arrival and want to leave the airport during a connection need a 48-hour or 96-hour transit visa. It is single entry, cannot be extended, must be approved before arrival and is sponsored by a UAE-based airline.
How much does a UAE visa cost with TRAVENSA Travels?
It depends on the visa type, nationality and processing route. Each quotation lists the government fee, our service fee, 5% VAT on our fee and any extra charges. Nothing is charged until you accept the quotation.
Is visa approval guaranteed?
No. Visas are issued only by the UAE authorities. TRAVENSA Travels is a private company that helps you prepare and submit your application; we are not a government body.
How is my passport data protected?
Passport details and documents are encrypted before storage, opened only by authorised visa staff with their own sign-in, every access is logged, and documents are deleted 90 days after the application closes. We never ask for passport copies on WhatsApp.
