For a family of four or more, the private trip often makes more sense: you set the pace, and it is the easier way to fit in the Louvre Abu Dhabi or a theme park on Yas Island.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: rules to know before you go
- Opening hours: Saturday to Thursday 9:00 to 20:30. Friday 9:00 to 11:30 and 14:30 to 20:30.
- Visitor fee: since September 2026, tourists pay a small entry fee (AED 10, or AED 8 when visiting with a tour operator). Visitors aged 60 and over, worshippers and guided cultural tours are exempt. Our shared day trip includes your entry.
- Dress code for women: loose, ankle-length clothing with long sleeves and a headscarf covering the hair. No tight, short, sleeveless or see-through clothing.
- Dress code for men: long trousers to the ankle and a shirt with sleeves. No shorts or sleeveless tops.
- No abaya loans: the mosque no longer lends abayas. If you need one, they are sold at Souq Al Jami next to the mosque (around AED 45), but it is easier to bring your own scarf and long clothes.
Mosque rules and fees are set by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre and can change. We confirm the current rules with your booking.
When it is not worth it
If you only have 2 or 3 days, or you are travelling with very young children in the summer heat, spend the day in Dubai instead. The city highlights tour or a Marina cruise gives more for less travel time.
