Practical tips from our drivers and guides
- Child seats: request them at booking. The private sedan transfer provides them on request at no extra cost. The luxury SUV transfer (up to 6 people and 6 bags) includes two child seats on request.
- Heat: between June and September, plan outdoor time before 10:00 or after sunset, and keep the middle of the day for indoor attractions.
- Car sickness: dune bashing is a rollercoaster in a 4x4. If anyone in the family gets car-sick, choose the evening camp, which skips it.
- Food: our BBQ and buffet dinners include vegetarian and halal options. Tell us about allergies at least 48 hours ahead.
- Pace: a private city tour lets you stop for naps and snacks. With small children it is often worth the extra cost.
A 3-day family plan
- Day 1: Dubai Frame & Museum of the Future in the morning; Dubai Fountain in the evening.
- Day 2: a slow morning at the hotel pool, then the evening desert camp.
- Day 3: Old Dubai by abra in the morning, then a Marina yacht cruise at sunset.
Quick answers
Is a desert safari safe for toddlers?
Choose the Evening Desert Camp, which drives out smoothly with no dune bashing. The classic dune-bashing safaris are bumpy and better for older children.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, on request at booking. The private sedan transfer provides them at no extra cost, and the luxury SUV includes two child seats on request.
Is Dubai good for families in summer?
It can be, if you plan around the heat: morning tours, indoor attractions in the afternoon, and outdoor activities after sunset.
